Bills Being Heard This Week:
🚨 Wednesday Feb. 18th
House Health & Human Services Committee | 1:30 PM | House Committee Room 0112
👉🏼 HB26-1085: Offer Pregnant Person Do Not Abort Form (Link)
This bill allows a pregnant mother the option to fill out a "Do Not Abort" form that expresses the person's wishes to not receive an abortion in the event the person is incapacitated or incapable of communicating.
Talking Points: This bill gives women the choice to ensure her baby lives if she becomes incapacitated.
👉🏼 HB26-1087: Safeguard Minors from Sex-Altering Interventions (Link)
This bill stops harmful sex change procedures from being performed on children. Also, this bill protects parents who refuse to consent to these harmful procedures being done to their children. And it also prevents taxpayer money and health insurance from being used to pay for these procedures. And finally, would revoke medical licenses for those who perform these procedures on children.
Talking Points: This bill protects kids from harmful procedures that will affect them for the rest of their lives. Children cannot consent to surgery or puberty blockers.

🚨 Wednesday Feb. 18th
Senate Judiciary Committee | 1:30 PM | Old Supreme Court
👉🏼 SB26-018: Legal Protections for Dignity of Minors (Link)
This bill would require a court to consider whether a parent affirms a gender transition when determining parenting time, allocation of parental responsibilities and allocation of decision-making responsibilities. This bill would also requires a court to suppress the court record of a name change petition if the petitioner is under 18-years old.
Talking Points: This bill punishes parents, including potentially removing custody, if a parent does not agree with the other parent's decision to transition the child's gender. Children are often used by divorced parents to punish or manipulate the other parent. This bill could lead to one parent being incentivized to push harmful gender ideology on the child in order to get full custody.
